CAME spokesperson on Aconcagua Radio: "Father's Days in recent years have not been satisfactory."

Salvador Femenía spoke with Aconcagua Radio about the consumer outlook surrounding this past Father's Day.
In an interview with the program " Haciendo Cumbre" on Aconcagua Radio, Salvador Femenía, spokesperson for the Argentine Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CAME), analyzed the commercial performance of last Father's Day and pointed out a worrying trend: sales continue to decline. "Revenue is 9% below last year's in real terms. Father's Days in recent years have not been satisfactory," he stated.
"Father's Day has left us with a quiet day commercially," Femenía said, adding: "There were a few items that had positive results, but they weren't decisive for the overall performance of the month."
The CAME spokesperson also warned of possible changes in consumer habits: "I think we're experiencing some change in habits that we haven't noticed yet. We can't fully confirm it." In this regard, he noted that even in 2022—when a slight increase of 2.4% was recorded compared to 2021, even in the context of the pandemic—the figures failed to reverse a stagnant trend. "It's a weak day. It's never been as representative as Mother's Day," he explained.
Finally, Femenía pointed to another factor that could be contributing to the poor sales performance: the coincidence of Father's Day with long weekends. "This thing about Father's Day coinciding with a long holiday has been happening for the past few years," she concluded.
